I Plot
Line
"The Boy Next
Door" is a psychological thriller film released in 2015, directed by Rob
Cohen. The protagonist of the tale is Jennifer Lopez's character, Claire
Peterson, a high school teacher who is parenting her only child by herself
after separating from her husband.
When a charming and attractive 19-year-old stranger named Noah moved in next
door and started to become Claire's son's friend while shielding him from
bullying, Claire's life took a perilous turn. After being lured by Noha, Claire
had a one-night affair with him.
Claire distanced herself from him
after realizing her error, but Noha remained fixated on her and unwilling to
accept her choice. Claire becomes the object of Noah's unhealthy obsession, and
he starts to follow her, manipulate people who are close to her, and act in an
increasingly aggressive and unpredictable manner. Noha's unbridled fixation
turned perilous for Claire's family, and Claire didn't back down to shield his
family from Noha's growing threats and acts of violence.
The movie "The Boy Next Door" delves into issues of obsession,
treachery, and the fallout from a fleeting moment of poor judgment.
I Positive Points
Jeniffer Lopez, with
her character's grandeur, and Ryan, with his attractiveness, charisma, and
dangerous nature, both had excellent performances. The audience was intrigued
to find out the villain's next move because of the tension and suspenseful
atmosphere produced in some of the sequences.
I
Negative Points
For many viewers,
the movie's premise seemed straightforward and predictable. The movie's speed
was uneven; it hurried and dragged at different points. Some viewers might find
the film awful, upsetting, provocative, and irritating. The movie suffered from
a lackluster impact due to the overused and monotonous dialogue in several
parts.
