I Plot Line

“The Ring" is a 2002 American supernatural horror film directed by Gore Verbinski and is a remake of the 1998 Japanese film "Ringu." The curse associated with a videotape is the central theme of the film.
The film opens with Katie and her buddy playing pranks on one another. Katie tells her friend that she watched the mystery tape last week and received a call right after watching it in which someone told her she has seven days left. On this seventh day, Katie passed away inexplicably shortly after disclosing this information.

Rachel Keller, a journalist, and Katie's aunt take the lead in this case. With the assistance of her ex-boyfriend, video analyst Noah, she set out to find out the truth about that videotape and the death of her niece.

She was so committed to discovering the truth that she watched the videotape with the unsettling pictures and received the same phone call as Katie. She finds out from the video that Samara is a disturbed psychic girl whose mother abandoned her in a well.
Rachel discovered that Aidan, her son, had also viewed the video. In a race against time, she tries to break the curse to save her son and herself.
"The Ring" is renowned for its unsettling ambiance, psychological terror, and the enduring image of Samara emerging from a TV, which has turned into a mainstay in the canon of horror movies. After Samara's crawling image went viral, several people made videos and played practical pranks on their friends.

I Positive Points

The plot of "The Ring" is original, and the atmosphere is eerie. Suspense, twists, and a tense atmosphere throughout the film keep the audience glued to their seats. The protagonist of the movie gave a powerful performance that gave the character more nuance and plausibility. Samara's famous moment of crawling out of the television is just one of the film's many classic and terrifying scenes.

I Negative Points

The middle portion of the movie has uneven, sluggish pacing, which may reduce viewer involvement. While the concept is original, some viewers may find it confusing due to the backstory and many plots. The rest of the actors aren't as involved in the film as the main character.

One Question: Which type of horror movie do you prefer to watch: psychological, zombie, slasher, supernatural, or comedy-horror?
